Hi There I am an SCJP for 1.4 and now preparing for SCJP 6.0. I am thinking of moving on to write SCDJWS. Is it advisable? I have worked into web applications maintenance, more into DB and Unix side and a little servlets and now in coldfusion. I dont have much exposure to JSP and EJB. Somebody please advise. Also I am contemplating between taking up IBM's XML Cert. / SCDJWS.... Looking forward to some replies. Thanks, Shankar Web developer

I would think that the web services cert would be more marketable. If you are doing Web services you do need to know alot about XML so an XML cert is eventally a good thing.

If your main focus is working with IBM clients, then the IBM cert is obviously the way to go. Otherwise, I'd really say that the Sun cert is the right one, and I'm a pretty true blue IBM supporter. Check out MZ's notest on web services certification. Most successful SCDJWS candidates swear by them. MZ's Notest on the Sun Web Services Developer Exam -Cameron McKenzie
