Hi, Jim Clark.

I'm new to Java FX and have done a little reading on the subject but I'm really not sure where I'd use it. Our company is moving to using flash/flex in our presentation layer...where would I use Java FX?

Thanks. I'm looking forward to checking out the book.

JavaFX allows you to do what you would do in Flex, but with Java. So if you're a Java developer you can use your existing knowledge, tools, and code libraries to extend to the web, desktop, and mobile devices. In fact, with JavaFX, you can write one body of code that will run unchanged on the desktop/laptop, mobile devices, browsers, and soon TVs (with JavaFX TV support) equally.
