It's very similar to the first edition as far as length, quality and content goes.

This book will tighten up your knowledge of core concepts for the exam. But it's not a huge book, so it won't take you all the way alone.

It's the long awaited update for one of the most popular SCEA book. At least reading from the product description, the content has been updated for the SCEA 5 exam (ie EJB 3).

But like what Cameron said, it should not be the only book/resource you'll ever read for SCEA. SCEA is a huge exam (wide and shallow as some would say). Checkout the SCEA links for a list of recommended resources.

Please compare this book with scea by by PAUL ALLEN / JOSEPH BAMBARA.
In terms of these chapters security,legacy application and applicablity of j2ee technology how is this book
