Congrats!!...a very nice score...really appreciating.... I regularly watch all Java ranchers scoring good here.
I am preparing for SCJP too. Hope to follow Ankit's guideline. I am also referring K&B certification book. It is very friendly and most of my doubts are cleared through it and this forum...Thanks!

Congratulations Ankit! You deserved it! Thanks for helping me understand mnay concepts through your esteemed answers. I cleared SCJP with 73%. Did not devote as much time BUT appreciate all the help on forums. K&B Book and Whizlabs exams helped me clear my concepts.

hi ankit,
First of all, my hearty congractulations to you on your achievement...I kno I am the last to wish you ...as I am new to the entire forum..
I am preparing for the SCJP 6 with minimal xperience of Java under my belt...
I did prepare the K and B book but I am currently faicng with a few issues in different areas when it comes to clearing the exams ...
Any suggestion that you can think of giving me....? I was wondeirng if its a good idea to drill down the rolf rasumussen book as well ...but seems like the content is heavy and frankly, I am scared of having an added confusion and messing around with the things ....
you think the K an B along with mock tests as many ....will do a good job for a neophyte like me ???
I wasn't expecting any congratulations now . Thanks Sandeep, Vinayak and Medhaj
Well if you are new to java, then I would recommend that you do go for another book in addition to K&B. K&B is strictly for SCJP so sometimes it is confusing to grasp a new topic from that book. I've not read the rolf rasumussen book, but if the language is easy and you practice well, you'll be able to crack SCJP easily with the mixture of rolf rasumussen and K&B. And don't be afraid that other books will confuse you. Books are written to clear confusions not to create them. And still if you are confused, you have all the ranchers to help you.
