Multiple positions. This is an all-volunteer project to create a free open-source product. All positions are unpaid.

The goal is to produce an object-oriented drawing program where the objects can possess both graphical and non-graphical properties that will run on a wide range of platforms by using the Java Swing and related packages to provide the UI and rendering features. The general model is to produce something with capabilities similar to Microsoft's Visio, but without that product's limitations on OS and graphics platforms.

While there are a number of existing programs available similar to this, they lack the desired portability and feature flexibility.

Positions available. Includes, but not limited to designers, coders, testers, documenters, graphic artists at all skill levels. Specific talents sought include understanding of computer graphics, file import/export mechanisms, GUI design and I18N and finite-state machines, but this is not a "must-have" skill list. More important is a willingness to learn as needed and to collaborate on an Internet-based team.

Geographic location: Cyberspace.

Who should apply: People looking to boost their rsums, contribute to the public benefit and/or earn Geek Points.
