I want to say many thanks:
1. To JavaRanch site, the
SCJP saloon especially.
2. Dan Chisholm for his wonderful and high quality mock exams.
3. Marcus Green for his great mock exams.
4. K&B book.
I have been a software developer for about 6 years, but I never had significant
Java exposure before I picked up K&B book.
The K&B book laid down the foundation about what the exam expects us to know about Java, it was really a great book, focused, easy and fun to read. I like the way the authors in several places gives the assurance about what we should not worry about knowing such and such details because it won't be on the exam. (and they are right!).
Dan Chisholm's mock exams are really great even for learning tools (concepts that I missed from reading K&B book). I probably even learn more by studying Dan's exams because it is simply focused on specific questions instead of taking pages to explain a concept. I even enjoyed studying topics that most likely will never be in the exam (
Thread with interrupt() and daemon thread, the heavy-duty inner class questions, etc).
Both Marcus Green and Dan Chisholm's questions are great tools to prepare me for those tricky questions (I like to call them freebie questions), those that have the :
compilation fails answers.
Again, many thank you guys!
