Applet Accessing the EJB

Just wondering can an Applet access an EJB and call the business methods of EJB? As the Applet runs on the remote client browser and how are the security features come in to picture in this kind of situation?

An applet could access a ejb. If the downloaded applet comes from another host than the ejb than the applet must be a signed applet. A signed applet is an applet with security permissions.
