As far as I know you dont need to be an SCJP or an SCWCD to be an SCJA (Sun Certified Java Associate). Hope you are not confusing it with SCEA(Sun Certified Enterprise Architect). The following link shall help

Hello, Kajal,

You are definitely qualified for the SCJA ... overqualified actually.

As you already have the SCJP and SCWCD certifications there is no need for you to acquire the SCJA. It sounds more like you should be heading towards the Architect (SCEA) or another Developer certification (SCJD, SCBCD, SCDJWS, or SCMAD).

SCJA is an introductory certification for aspirants who are new to the Java language and tests knowledge based on the language's basic syntax, functionality, and uses. You have already been certified to a much higher level of these requirements.

Cheers,
Geoff.

SCJA is really the entry level Java certification, designed for people that will be working with Java, and need technical skills and a solid understanding of the big picture in the Java world.

With your SCJP and SCWCD, you'd pass the syntax questions and questions on Servlets and JSPs pretty easily. You'd just have to brush up on some RMI, EJB and perhaps some OOA and OOD concepts to really get a killer score.

It looks great on a resume!
