how to accessing remote multiple databases

Given that the adminstrator of the database gives us access unconditionaly what would be the procedure for editing and retriveing the data.


ps: we are using java technology with SOAP and XML and HTTP service

Presumably you will be setting up a HTTP server to house a SOAP web service on the computer that has direct access to the database.

After picking a SOAP toolkit, you should get started with simple SOAP server and client software to get experience.

You should generalize the SOAP design so that it has no database vendor specific features and thus can be used with all of the different databases.
