Hi all

I am really new to Java. I really would like to start a career in J2ME. I hav e started learning JAVA by preparing and studying for the SCJP. I would really appreciate if anyone can give me some tips so as to learn SCJP using J2ME applications (if this is possible)..

My background is hardware..(EE from Va Tech). I did have a class on OOP using C++ back in college.

Also would anyone recomment a good intro book to J2ME based on my background.

Thanks for your time
Glenn

Unfortunately, what you learn for J2ME will not help you for the SCJP.

For J2ME, I suggest getting Jonathan Knudsen's J2ME book from Apress publishing.
