Dear Admin
Surprisingly, and just by chance I acknowledged today that I am the winner of the book "Head First EJB" on Nov 10. But I have not received the book nor any notification. So I have the following questions:
1-How come I have not received any thing from you?
2-How can I get my copy?
3-As I have already purchased this book, is there any possibility that I have it changed with another book?
Thank you so much for your consideration and for your efforts on this site.
Best Regards,
Pourang Emami

If you just noticed today that you were a winner, then it's very unlikely that you sent Tom your postal address when your prize was first announced, as requested. The publisher can't send you a book if Tom can't tell them where you live!

2-How can I get my copy?

I don't know if it's too late now, or not. I'll try to find out for you.

Nope, sorry. The book giveaways are a way that publishers promote an individual book; winning a book is not like winning a gift certificate.

Perhaps you can return the one you bought ... or sell one of them.

Sorry, but as the rules specify you must notify me within 30 days of the contest.
From http://www.javaranch.com/bookpromo.jsp

All winners must respond within 30 days of the end of the contest. Winners will be announced on the winners page and in the forum where the contest is held. JavaRanch will make no attempt to contact winners. Winners who fail to contact JavaRanch within 30 days will forfeit their book.

Managing the book giveaways is a huge amount of work complicated by some publishers being difficult, some authors being difficult and sometimes giveaway participants get angry that they don't win often enough.
I think the rules are mighty fair.
I know I used to contact people to tell them that they won a book, but that wasn't as easy of a task as you might think it would be. Some folks didn't have a valid e-mail. Some folks had no e-mail. Some folks were just hard to look up (UBB's member search features could be richer). I think it is reasonable for Tom to let that part go.
Five months is a long time. I wonder if the publisher contact has changed.
I think it is best to stick to the rules on this one.
