Hi!
I am a physics graduation person. I have almost 8 yrs in IT experience with 1 1/2yrs in java. I am going to appear scjp on 27 december 2000. I am searching for a good java oriented job.
The problem is, because of my educational qualification, my job opportunity in abroad is getting rejected often. All of them wants a engineer or a post graduate person.
Can anybody give suggestion for this. I really fed up for this.

Hi,
If you have 8+ IT Exp then i think Physics Graduation should not be a problem to get a H1 Visa ( I presume you are looking for a job in US).
But for this you should be able to get a job offer from a US based Company who is willing to Sponsor the visa.

Hi Srini,
But within India also most of the companies wanted only engineers to restrict the no of people applying.
I want job either at New Delhi or surroundings of Delhi or Abroad.

I guess I fall into the same category. I have around 8 years of experice in the software development. I faced the same problem about 6 years back when I was trying to get a job in Bangalore. For the last 3 years I am in USA and never felt bad about my qualification again.
So its better to find out a company which cares about your technical skills and experience rather than looking at whether you are an engineer or not.
I really don't understand what an engineer ( mechanical, civil etc not computer science ) with 1 or 2 years experience can do better than a 7 or 8 year experienced graduate ( physics, maths etc ).
In a nuttshell don't worry about this at all. Go to sites like dice.com , monster.com and place your resume. I am sure that somebody who really need your skill set will find you.
Regards
ARS Kumar.
