I'm an embedded software engineer (C++ & C) who also plays with embedded Java as a hobby. So far I've used leJos & tinyVM for the Lego Mindstorm Robot & have read about RoboJDE here on Javaranch...I am familiar with J2ME and interested in Java-derivatives, TINI and Parallax Javalin, which Al Williams' discusses in his book Embedded Internet Design.

Would like to hear what other folks are doing with embedded Java or Java-like languages, especially anything other than J2ME.

thanks!
Sherry

Doing various industrial projects with an embedded Java controller from SNIJDER Micro Systems.

BTW it's a pity that Lego discontinued the Mindstorms stuff...

I am interested , too. TINI, sensor... you can email me czy11421@yahoo.com

where is "RoboJDE here on Javaranch" ? I want to learn more.

Strongly suggested, javaranch can launch a new forum just for embed java, hardware ..

Thanks

BTW, you can find the article on RoboJDE at:
http://www.javaranch.com/journal/200407/Journal200407.jsp#a2

Or do a search from the JavaRanch home page (not the Saloon search) ...The author does a comparative report on 2 Java-derivatives, leJos and RoboJDE, based on her Drexel U. robotics class work.

cheers,
Sherry
