Hi,

Welcome to JavaRanch!

Your JVM is crashing, plain and simple. An "access violation" means that the program is trying to use memory it's not suppose to use, and that's what's causing the crash. This could be due to the C code using a NULL pointer, dereferencing something that's not actually a valid pointer, or many other things.

EIther use a debugger to step through your JNI code, or simply put some printf() calls in to trace where it's going, to narrow down the point at which the crash occurs.
