you can put any java codes embedded in the jsp code

jsp coding is distancing itself from embedded raw java codes in the jsp. an alternative is using, javabeans or custom tags. you would use the javabeans and custom tags inside the jsp just like any html or xml code. so with regards to interfaces, if you ever use it, they would be in the javabeans or custom tags code, not in the jsp.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
