If by 'refresher' you mean for someone who doesn't need a tutorial aimed at beginners, I would recommend reading the JSP, Servlet, and JSTL specs.

I suspect that the OP meant "fresher" which seems to be a term used by some of our posters use to mean "novice" (in the same way that "doubt" is used to mean "question").

is good to start with.

I just want to confirm that is it understandable to a beginer without any teacher? Or any other book should i try.

Yes it is. The book is your teacher, it talks to you
