No, Sybase and InstantDB are 2 different things. Sybase is a company that makes SQL Anywhere which is a Database. InstantDB is a 100% Java,� Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).

Where can I get the jdbc driver then for Sybase? i googlized but couldnot find.

I typed in "Sybase JDBC" and it was the first hit. http://www.sybase.com/products/middleware/jconnectforjdbc

no, i have dl'ed and extracted. but dont find the jar file to be put into the CLASSPATH s.t. one can utilize it using Class.forName("com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver").newInstance();
