If you do a search on this forum, you will find that this has been discussed a number of times.

To summarize: you might well see RSS in the future. I don't think we can promise you a date, though.

Summary - it was tried, once, on ONE forum. it brought the servers to their knees. it was abandoned.

i'd also suggest you read this FAQ. Your post looks like you are shouting, and demanding somebody spend their free time implementing a feature YOU want. requests, even reasonable one, made like these are very off-putting.

I would bring forward the fact that more and more people are using RSS today and its very convenient form of getting information. I am not asking to implement it just because someone like it.

I would suggest in fact to start a poll out in the ranch in the homepage to see if people require a RSS feed for forums in this site of their choice.
If the outcome of the poll is good, then I guess it calls in for some action , which would definitely invite more and more people in the future and make them even more happy.

As for the server, yes, it is getting a heavy load and I am seeing the result as the javaranch takes double the time of a normal site to get loaded in my place.
Is it possible to do something to increase the speed? Maybe AJAX would help in posting and replying to reduce entire page access and the server load.

We don't need a poll to know that people would like RSS feeds. Hell, *we* would like RSS feeds.

What we need is someone from the staff who has the time, knowledge and ease to find an acceptable solution. It probably will happen one day. We can't give an estimate on when, though.
