Anyone have any idea what effect this will have?

When was the support (that mattered) really there? This news
is really a non-issue for server side Java shops. People who matter (IT managers, Developers) will need a little bit more than a "Microsoft drops Java" headline for them to really not consider
Java.

Could this be a good thing in that people will start using the Sun Java plug-in (hopefully the latest version) instead of the Microsoft VM that traditionally came with IE?
