Hi Guys,

I am looking for an article to motivate my friend who is frustrated due to low rating in review.

I want to convey him that he is more valuable then points that he has got in review and life have more dimension then just your professional life.

Regards,
Chetan

Isn't it motivating enough ? Give him some real life examples, that might help .. personally my first rating was very bad and today I am rated as top 5% contributor in the company ..

I did not get a good review (partly due to personal conflict) from my team lead in my first java job. I subsequnetly left that job and that really motivated me to improve myself (some times one need to be pushed to do better in his/her career). A few years later I happened to bump into my former team lead in a different company and he was very surprised at my career progression.

You should take reviews as a mechanism to better yourself. Also review the areas you need improvement in. Valid criticisms always motivates me to do better or prove that I can do better. They can be stepping stones to do things better. I some times take it as a challenge (as I did in my first Java job).

Not at all motivating.

It will give me the powers of the gods. Not bad for a tiny ad:
