Software Development Magazine names Andrew Troelsen's "C# and the .NET Platform" 12th Annual Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards Finalist
>
Berkeley, CA-February 7, 2002- Software Development Magazine announced the 49 finalists for this year's Jolt Product Excellence
and Productivity Awards on January 25, 2002. The products named were chosen from over 700 nominations by a team of Software Development editors, advisers and columnists. C# and the .NET Platform by Andrew Troelsen was named among the finalists.
>
> "I am ecstatic about receiving this nomination," said Andrew Troelsen, author of C# and the .Net Platform, the nominated title, as
well as Visual Basic. NET and the .NET Platform, both from Apress. "My hopes for other books are just as high. This is quite the honor," Troelsen added.

> The Software Development Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards are awarded to products that have "jolted" the Information and Technology industries with their presence and made the difficult tasks of daily development and implementation, faster and easier. The "Jolt" award is named after the famous caffeine-loaded soft drink that is still a favorite among software programmers and continues to help them through long nights of coding and lengthy development projects.
> Jolt Cola has other close ties to the world of computers, and was the first beverage in the world to list its World Wide Web address on
it's packaging.
>
> Gary Cornell, Apress's Publisher and a Jolt Award Finalist himself said "Andrew's simply amazing. His books showed a penetration into .NET that continues to astonish me each time I return to them. I have learned and continue to learn an immense amount reading them." In addition Cornell stated, "We expect Apress leadership in books on .NET to continue with lots of exciting books by Andrew and other industry leaders scheduled to appear this year. We view this nomination as a welcome 'jolt' to our already high-impact publishing program!"
