compilation error

when i am trying to compile my filewritten in servlets i get this compuilation error. wht does this error means?

dservlet.java uses or overrides a deprecated API.
Recompile with -deprecation for details.

The jar file that contains servlet api in your classpath supports a particular version, and your servlet is using some API function from older version.

Did u try using the request.putValue(); mothod in your code?

If so, it is deprecated and you will get such warning.

It is one of the reasons for such a warning
