cannot call getOutputStream() after getWriter()

This is the line which throws the exception, and i didn't call
getWriter() at all before this.
OutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();
wb.write(out);
out.close();
I am using poi api(
servlets
) for generating excel sheets.
