Im new to HTTP range header... how do we use range header in
java
? How is it different from HTTP GET??

Any handling of the range header information will have to be programmed by you - the
servlet
interface will route the GET request to your doGet method and it is up to you to interpret special headers.

this section of the HTTP 1.1 standard.
