I think it's unfair that Sun's site says something different.
I'm going by what was on the Prometric sheet. If their software thinks that 66% is a pass, you will fail if you only get 65%. Whether or not you can appeal is a good question.
I rather doubt that that is something you will need to worry about.
"Develop code that declares both static and non-static methods, and - if appropriate - use method names that adhere to the JavaBeans naming standards. Also develop code that declares and uses a variable-length argument list."
Call me cynical, but is Sun just trying to boost the numbers of SCJPs? Seems to me that that some very important concepts have been ripped out of the exam. I'm just glad mine is over and done with!
Oh, and the pass mark on the SUn page is sill 58.33%, not 66% as above.
*As it's not a common English word: "flabbergasted" - to be dumbfounded, amazed, stunned etc.
The kind of corruption I used is a rather old joke...struggling to remember where it came from.

Why? The exam has become easier.
Nevertheless you passed also the cut version - the info on the website was out of date. You said you hadn't got very wide questions.
The reply from who2contact[at]sun.com
Thank you for contacting Sun Certification Customer Support. We are happy to assist you.
The website is now corrected. You will need to answer atleast 35 questions correctly for a passing score.

Exactly. Whatever value it had has been further diminished by making the exam easier and whilst I think the exam spent a lot of time testing things that I do not consider relevant, topics such as threading are vital to a professional programmer.

I am not claiming otherwise. But I am just glad that I no longer have to worry about what random changes Sun make to the SCJP. I am, however, worried about the impact on the whole Sun certification.
I gave the SCJP 6 exam yesterday, and passed with a 93%.
My score sheet said the pass score was 58%. There were 60 questions to be answered in 3 hours.
For the most part, the questions were quite simple.
I used the Kathy Sierra book and downloaded the mock exam from this site http://www.examlab.tk/ to prepare. The questions in the mock are good and much tougher than the real one, and the GUI is very similar to whats in the real exam.
Just one more thing. The drag and drop answers get reset when you try to review them, so be sure of your answer before you hit Done on them!

I'm not 100% sure, but I'd bet $100 that here's what's in or out with regards to the updated objectives:
- statics and non-statics - still in, because this topic comes up in several places throughout the objectives
- JavaBeans - out
- var-args - out
- serialization - out - wait / notify - out

350 p.p.m. If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
It appears that questions from some objectives and sections appear more in number than the others. So if anyone is weaker in one area and ends up with more question from those areas .. then well .. it would be hard to pass.

* This is what I found out during my exam.
Passing mark is 58%. OVER OVER OVER AGAIN: 58% or 35 questions

Things are really confusing. And sorry I cannot either agree or disagree with you.
My Score Report Clearly Wrote in Bold:
PASSING SCORE: 66% YOUR SCORE: 86%
I guess its confusing a lot of people ..
The official sun website says Pass score: 58.33 % (35 of 60) and they printed out different required passing score on my score report. This is funny.

It Prometric software will fail you if you do not get 66%, but then Sun will get in contact and reverse the fail as long as you got 58.33% or better. This has been reported happening on some threads here.

Nup. It's 58.33% and has been since Sun changed it. For some reason Prometic think is 66%.
