Info concerning the updates to the SCJP 6 exam

I gave my exam yesterday and passed ... Yay !!! not too happy about the score though.

The # of questions were 60 and had 4 questions on Serialization which per revised syllabus should not be there on the exam. Is there a way to notify Oracle/Sun or Prometric about the testing centre and have them updated to the new questions set?

And a big thanks to Bert Bates and Kathy Sierra for writing such a wonderful book and making our learning process easier.

I am planning to appear for SCJP 6 Exam this month end or by Sep 2010 Start.
I inquired about the availability of SCJP 6 vouchers in nearby NIIT Prometric center in Chennai, India.
I got the reply that Sun has stopped issuing SCJP vouchers and that there is no stock of vouchers in that center.If at all I have to buy, then I have to do it Online.
I want to finish the exam soon. Is it true that Sun has stopped issuing SCJP 6 vouchers to Prometric centers, Will they be called Oracle Java vouchers here on? Will here be any change in syllabus ?
Please guide me in completing this exam by giving advice to get the correct SCJP 6 vouchers from Prometric centers.

It is true that Sun has stopped issuing SCJP vouchers. You don't have to buy them online also. Recently, I inquired in a Prometric center in Chennai and I came to know that we can directly pay($ 150 = 7,200rs ) to the prometric center and write the exam. You can do this on the same day as you write the exam. Let me know if you have got any different info!

what you read on Oracle website is for the US people, every country has its own price, for example
United Arab Emirates same as US 300$
India 160$
Jordan 125$

But do solve more and more mock exam.that will help you a lot.

haha, I meant that I go there and take a try ;) anyway, are You sure there will be no such a question? since from time to time I see on different forums (also here) that someone complains that he had something related to this topic..

Serialization was removed more than a year ago. From what I've seen, people have reported for the past 5 or 6 months that they didn't get any question on serialization on the exam. Still to be sure you can contact your prometric center to see if they know about this...

I too have prepared using the JavaChamp Chapter-Wise exams.....and they were Very Very Very tricky and confusing......Is the real exam like this???.................and is it enough to prepare for the exam??

im preparing for SCJP K&B i bet its the best book from the Reviews and i also guesss that if changes happen to the exams i doubt this ll help me more as it did for other guys to get 90% ..

I am planning to go for OCP in next month. What is the cost of it and where can I find the prometric centers. There is no information about the prometric centers in India on Oracle's site. Please help.

As far as I know, India is not an embargoed country.
Go to www.prometric.com browse for IT Certifications --> Oracle --> and you will find all the information you need with regard to costs, existing testing centres, times/dates, et cetera.
I found this telephone number for Prometric India, under Asia/Pacific locale link:
"India / (Monday - Friday, 9:00 to 17:30 GMT +05:30) / 91-0124-451-7160"
You will need to know the code for the certification you will be writing.

anybody can tell me what is that levels which we have to select before exams something like (normal, hard , simple like this .. for each topic) we have to select befor exam time start?? will it effect on our score if we select simple level.......???
