Yes, when use the voucher code the buy is for U$S 0, so only is needed accept this.

When you are complete this action (1Z0-844: Java Standard Edition 6 Developer Certified Master Assignment (T1)
English) so now you can go to your profile in Pearson Vue and select 1Z0-856: Java Standard Edition 6 Developer Certified Master Essay Exam (Step 2 of 2) (English) , where is required make a payment for U$S125 and when this is complete, you can upload your assignment .

Realy I dont remeber, but when you complete all steps for 1Z0 844 or 1Z0 856 you can upload your assignment, but the important is who this is the needed test to upload your assignmen and take the essay. The rest is follow the steps that says Pearson Vue
This is all!, do not have afraid, the world not is for people afraids!

I hope will be util this info

Regards

If you got your voucher from Prometric, you should follow the steps mentioned beneath "I purchased the Assignment from Prometric, but I haven’t returned my completed project to Oracle yet. How do I upload my Assignment?" in the vendor transition FAQ.

If you really don't remember, don't provide wronf information, because that will make it more confusing (and as you already discovered yourself the whole transition process is already quiet complex). The vendor transition FAQ clearly states:

Why can’t I register for the essay in my Master Java Developer or Master Java Architect path?
Candidates must have a submitted assignment on file before they are able to register for an essay appointment with Pearson VUE. Once you have submitted your assignment, you will be able to schedule your essay appointment.

So you first have to submit your assignment (through pearson vue's website) and then you'll be able to purchase (and schedule) the essay exam.

I'm truly touched

But no need to worry, I'm just fine. After moderating this forum for almost 6 months this year it was time for a 1 week holiday with no computers/internet at all So even sending the rescue team to Belgium was useless, because I was in La Palma, but now I'm back

On june 8th I got this reply from oracle that they forwarded my mail I sent to suncert_ww@oracle.com to developer-submit_US@oracle.com.

They send this message with a CC to me:

Hi Team,

Please assist this candidate.

Regards,
OCP Team

Since then I'm waiting for a response. I think I have to send another mail on tuesday if I don't get a response then. Can someone who just requested a voucher and got it tell me how long it took?

I hope they will reply now

When did you send the first request? I wrote them on June 9 and got the answer today (because of the weekend) and finally uploaded my assignment. Make sure you contact developer-submit_US@oracle.com and not the old suncert_ww@oracle.com email address.

I sent my first mail on monday June 6th to suncert_ww@oracle.com. They forwarded that to developer-submit_US@oracle.com on tuesday June 7th, sending me a CC of that.
So it was a week ago. Today I did a second request and sent an email to both adresses. From both I got an auto-reply message that said that they take 5 days for an answer, because they receive a lot of emails per day.

Response times seem to vary. I sent my request for a voucher at 8th of June at developer-submit_US@oracle.com and the response with the voucher came after one day. In general they need about 2 to 5 working days to respond, although there are many exceptions to that. So if you see that they do not respond after 5-6 working days, sent them a second mail (or a third..).

Lol, this is annoying. I got a reply after I requested a voucher and provided them the details about my prometric payment.

This is their response:

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for contacting Oracle Certification Program.

Can you please forward us the email in which you received the below authorization code details. We will check the same and issue the voucher.

Regards,
OCP Team

I'm at work now, but if I remember from last week I already looked in my mail box for details about this payment, but didn't have them. I'll have a look when I get home, but I don't understand their problem.

I really don't understand it anymore. Prometric never sent an email after I bought the exam
And what's with Oracle? I have to provide them data they should get them themselves from Prometric.

No ones complains here anymore. How did all you get the voucher?

I had the same problem, no receipt from payment but my case was more complicated because I got the assignment for free, which was their fault. I also had to explain them two-three times but in the end I got the voucher. Be a bit more arrogant and emphasize that you already told them that you didn't get such receipt because Prometric did not send such to you.

Finally some better news after sending them a mail again (with the same story).

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for mailing the details. We will email the voucher details in
3-5 business days.

We apologize for the delay.

Finally, I submitted my assignment and registered for the essay exam.
Hereby some small notes and time schemes which were applicable to me. So maybe upcoming candidates will have an idea how long everything takes to submit the stuff.

06 June: I sent an email to suncert_ww@oracle.com and requested a voucher number to submit my assignment.
07 June: I receive a reply (CC), where they forwarded my mail to developer-submit_US@oracle.com. --> So send your request to this email address!
15 June: I sent another mail to both mail adresses to request again (took rather long....)
15 June: I received a reply the same day where they said they wanted me to forward an email from Prometric with payment details...*sigh* I didn't have that and told them that in another email.
16 June: I received an email in which they said they would send me a voucher number in 3-5 business days.
21 June: My voucher number has been mailed! w00t

So, it took some time to be able to upload the assignment. Luckily I requested that voucher about a week before I was really finished. (Do the same!!! It saves time for the deadline).

Today, I logged in at http://pearsonvue.com/oracle/ to submit my work. I followed the (not new) instructions they also provided in the email to upload the stuff. So login...go to 'master assignments'..select the exam...enter the voucher number.
This entering of the voucher number seems like you're gonna pay (again) for the exam. This is not true When you enter the voucher number, the price drops to $0.00. However, after clicking next you still think you just bought a new assignment (for free) again. After a few clicks you get all of a sudden a page with an upload button and a short description. Follow those instructions and you're done uploading...rather simple.

After succesfully uploaded my work, I could register for the essay exam.

I have to say that this whole 'upload-register for essay'-stuff went very well, without any problems. I hope that candidates who will submit soon share this experience after submitting.
Good luck on your work (especially those who are in a hurry)

Thanks Dennis for submitting this valuable information. And glad to hear you finally were able to submit your assignment Good luck with the essay exam!

As a side note: I noticed the UI for uploading of the assignment confuses a lot of people, because it seems you are purchasing another assignment, so hopefully they'll change that in near future.

Maybe you could have a look at the official OCMJD web site page?

Hi All,

I didn't receiver the voucher from Pearson yet but I'm curious how long it will be valid. Will I get an extra 6 months time to upload the assignment or will the original 1 year period starting from the time I bought the assignment from Prometric still be valid? Does anybody know? The former would considerably relax my tight schedule ;)

Best regards,

Hi Matthias,

my voucher is valid until 31 December 2011 and i got it at 9 of June. To tell you the truth, it does not really matter if we have six months or 1 year because at October 1st the requirements of the certification change. See this thread for more information. I hope this helps!

Hi Pan,

the interesting point for me is if the original deadline for the upload of my assignment (1 year since the purchase of the assignment at Prometric, which ends next week) will stay the same with the new voucher from Pearson or if the deadline will be moved to a later date. Even if it will be moved I will finish my assignment before October 1st, that's for sure!

Then I believe that this thread will answer your question....

Hi Matthias,

I'm afraid you'll need to buy a new voucher if you will not be able to submit your assignment before the deadline of the other expires. You definitely have to ask for a pearson vue voucher to replace the prometric one, so you'll have to send an e-mail to get this new voucher (and maybe have to pay again)

Kind regards,
Roel

Is there any word limit to the answers in the essay exam (e.g a maximum of 200 words per question?)

I think there isn't. It is a text field with scrollbars where you type your answer and sometimes I typed that much that I had to scroll but it didn't say there's a limit or at least I didn't reach the limit. And the questions are usually quite simple and strightforward so you don't need to type a very long answer.
