Seriously I dont understand why people blog. I think its better to mail one of your friends.

If its a technical blog or blog on one particular subject, I can understand bloging...

I have blog.. its my personal... I dont know how to keep it personal but its personal. Its not for everyone.

AW question is for bloggers, what do you blog? How do you decide, what is your personal and what you should share with public ?

PS: someone will tell me how to make your blog personal and private. I would like to have restricted access to my blog, say to few of my friends.

I have the same question. I, for one, live to express. When I try blogging, it gets a little scary. Oh my God! everyone knows what I am thinking

I guess it begins as a vent and then becomes an addiction.

well... i blog...just some tidbits about my life...my feelings about things around me.

it gives me a nice place to vent out my feelings without having any issues with anyone..

the only problem is that i'm lazy, and a bit busy..so my blog isn't so regularly updated.

but I like writing...

My wife has a blog. we use it to share photos of our daughter with our friends. rather than mail a dozen 1meg images to 30 or 50 people, we post them, and send an email saying "new photos published". Then, people can look at them when they have time, or ignore them.

[geek]we're using it to implement a pull method, instead of a push method, of our publisher/subscriber pattern.[/geek]

I have two blogs.
One public on www.angelapoynton.com
One private - NOBODY but me reads it.

I use Blogger.com which gives you the option to make a blog public or not.

What I post on my public Blog is just stuff really, stuff I don't mind people knowing about me. I haven't been very good at updating it lately, I'm working on that.

My private Blog is a mess of random thoughts and feelings about my day.

You don't understand blogging yet you'll come into MD and discuss meaningless crap in a public forum?

Thanks Angela, let me try to make blog private..

Correct me If I am not wrong that what I know is that by making blog private it would not only display the blog address to the public.
But if someone knows the URL of your blog then he can certainly view your blog. Is it correct ??

I've actually just moved my blog to typepad.com (nothing again blooger, it just didn't have some features I wanted to use) and you can password protect your blog there.
Maybe you can on Blogger, I can't remember to be honest.
