Try the "help mput" command at the FTP prompt.

The actual usage will vary depending on the FTP server you are connected to (e.g. wu-ftp, vsftp, etc.), independent of the OS's of client and server. The FTP server has a command interpreter (shell) that parses your commands and takes appropriate FTP protocol actions.

Is there any solution to copy complete directory from Windows to UNIX. I tried with mput but it didn't work for me.

You need to use an FTP client which can do recursive copying. Many FTP clients (particularly the graphical ones) can. The "mput" command doesn't as standard.

Although you may find that there's a "recurse" command. I'd forgotten about that little detail!

Most ftp servers have a "help" command, so try that and see what options are available on the server you're working with.
