Hi all ,

I joined the forum few days back.
I am a newbie to J2EE as I am to ths forum.
The problem is that I need to learn J2EE
quickly, in depth and with good practical knowledge.

Please guide me to achieve this really tedious looking task.
I mean in terms of reference material.

Thanks

thanks for your reply
But I also have J2EE complete reference book
wanted to know whether that's better than this
which one is better?
and gives me the complete knowledge of the subject.
How do you compare the two?
Would you advice other reference material also.
Why there are separate books on EJB etc.

Thanks

Any book is good to start with. And J2EE is a vast technology, its not possible to get everything in a single book.
Start with the basics, then servlets,JSPs and so on. EJB is not the starting point.
Look out for our FAQs on the subject.

I know JSP, servlets and java.
But I am talking about J2EE.
If I am correct, then J2EE is:

how java relates to xml,DBMS,html,RMI etc.
+ J2EE design patterns

I wanted to know what all will I be able if I read the above mentioned link.
"I dream at becoming a PRO in J2EE".
Please guide me to the best possible path that
experienced people like you followed.
I will do follow it however hard it is.

Challenge : "Not to forget, I only have a month in my hand"

Just wanted to know a great path to follow.

You will not acquire deep knowledge of JEE in a month, certainly not practical knowledge. Amongst others, JEE encompasses Servlets/JSP/JSF, JDBC, EJB, JMS, JavaMail, JMX, and web services (SAAJ and JAX-WS). Which of these are relevant to you?

thanks for your reply "Ulf Dittmer".

Look : problem at my hand is that I have been
given months time and then I will be given
some great challenging work in J2EE.
This will include : J2EE design patterns,EJB,JMS and web services for sure
But I have to get a good knowledge of what all is there in J2EE.
and is expected to be comfortable with J2EE.

If I don't do this now, then I will surely have a tough time.

PLEASE GUIDE ME TO A GOOD PATH

have you understood my challenge at hand?

COMMENTS ARE WELCOME.
Please guide me by telling some great books name
and the order in which I should read them.

Thankyou very much.
