I need to exclude some jars when I package my web project with Maven since my tomcat run environment provides them. How so I set that up in my pom.xml. Alternatively, what version of jstl.jar does tomcat 5.5 use and I'll just us that in my development environment? Thanks.

Hi Matthew,

Very quickly.

1.) You can set a dependency to scope 'provided' so that you don't bundle it when you build your artifact
2.) Look at the Tomcat website, they have that info listed if I remember correctly.

Thanks, setting scope to provided fixed it.
