Hey guys,
After seeing this i was kind of desparate.
http://hyperlessons.wordpress.com/2009/07/09/it-certifications-in-demand-2/

After doing scjp and now preparing for scwcd but now looking at this which sun exams are even not listed for most demanded 9 IT certificates make me kind of sad.

Any idea..I think its a bullshit or something.

Thank You.

So what would you like to do for a living, be a programmer or an OS/Network Admin. From my understanding of the acronyms the only programming language certification listed on that chart are Java, there are no C/C++/C#/Basic/PHP/Perl certifications mentioned. So it could be that Java certification is the most in demand of certifications among programming languages.

Or it could be flawed data that is effectively meaningless, after all it does say "a simple analysis"... and it is Indian specific..

Would a "simple analysis" be able to differentiate between job ads requiring a specific certification, those describing them as nice to have, and those that merely mention them as one out of several possible, alternative prerequisites? Probably not.

To be fair, the base C#/VB certification at the moment is a MCTS - Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist - certification. But so are a lot of other Microsoft certifications that don't involve C#/VB, so it's impossible to tell from the data presented if Java is or is not the only language for which certifications are being requested.

I do concur that it's a little hard to make anything but the most simple of judgements about what this data means with regards to certification and job-hunting.

Don't do certificates in search of money. Do it because you want to improve you're knowlede. If you need to learn scwcd, why care about pie diagrams?
