I'm learning XHTML for
JSP.
Most texts are extremely slow , so I bought a reference book and worked my way
through the tags attempting to reproduce the screens I coded as an Oracle Forms (a 4GL for GUI) developer.
I read David McFarland in
CSS : The Missing Manual pp.16-17 on Amazon.
He mentions various hacks and work-arounds (<blockquote> for indenting , tables for positioning) that designers used pre CSS.
These may be legacy but they interest me.
Can you recommend a book or website that describes these methods ?
(I know of Rachael Andrew's
HTML Utopia - Designing Without Tables using CSS.
It may have 4 stars on Amazon but I find the negative reviews convincing.)
Thank you.
