Hi people

Is there a way to get the last Subversion checkin user of a class that does not compile within a maven build to automatically inform the user by email about the build problem?

Yes, sort of, what you're looking for is a Continuous Integration Solution. They're very easy to install and use these days and there are several good ones that are compatible with Maven. Hudson in particular I find to be excellent.
