I populate the dropdown box through DWR and input data is Map. The drop down code looks like,

In JavaScript, you only need to give element id and data. It automatically populates the dropdown. Now addition to that I want to make X value selected based on some value available in request scope. i.e. some variable hold the 'id'. wherever that id matches in dropdown i want to make that value 'selected'. When I was doing this through JSTL foreach loop, i used to do

How can I achieve this with DWR?
