Why not? It's easier than working!
There's all sorts of
diploma mills that will
exchange cash for credentials. Personally, I've been thinking about buying a Doctorate in Divinity so everyone has to call me "reverend". Has a nice ring to it.
I used to work for a company doing outside consulting. A couple of the guys I worked with didn't have Bachelor's degrees but had a lot of domain knowledge (usually retired military or government employees), so a degree wasn't essential. One day, one of my coworkers updates his resume with a new BS. The boss found out and that guy was out the door so quick we didn't know what happened. There was no debate, the company's reputation was at stake and they couldn't risk someone misrepresenting themselves.
