Personally I don't think it is always a good idea to combine beginers and advanced features. You end up reading more books, and more than half of the informations is "redundant".

While I agree with some of your statements, my observation is that very less people know all the features of Struts well. Many fall into the category where they know one area well and they are really beginners in another ascpect of Struts. So, I really cannot make assumptions my readers. That's the rationale behind the book.
Plus the book is short 224 pages. Beginers in Struts wont even notice they are understanding the advanced concepts. Experienced people can easily skip material that they know well. I have tried to get to the point straight and deal with it, so it should be relatively easy to retrieve what you like without much difficulty.
