Hello i am sandeep,
I want to build a document management system like tortoise SVN,
but i want to commit and update by email-integration,
Please suggest me to avoid overhead of sending whole document.
Instead i want to send to server, only the modified data.
Thank you in advance.

SVN is a version control system. tortoise SVN is a SVN client.

You want to email commit / update commands ? Source control systems are complex enough without such gimmickry to begin with. Why do you want to integrate with email when you can talk with the server directly ?

I want to develop the document management system for ship employee,
The servers are on the port and communication with the ship can be made with emails only.
That's why i need to do it in low bandwidth and through e-mail commit and update.

If the ship can email, it is part of a network. Cant you put the server on the same network ?

The servers are managed on port and there we can keep document.
In case document changes the only "changes" are updated to the ship instead of entire file.<thus saving bandwidth>,
and there we can merge the file and ship employee can view latest version of the document.

A protocol to communicate only deltas ? Google wave does that using XMPP. I have seen some of the data that goes in and out. Not sure if it will help you.

Do you need versions or is the latest version sufficient ? Have you thought about compressing the data before you send it. How big are the files ?

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
