Hello author,

How is your book different from the books available in the market?

Struts: The Complete Reference has a vast coverage of Struts' JSP Tag Libraries, Configuration Files, information on integration with JSTL and coverage of security and unit testing. I think you'll find the coverage in this book to be an excellent reference.

Thanks,

If this is a full reference book, does it have examples of plugins ? does it describe how to overwrite the request proccessor ? Does it describe how the roles security works and how you can enforce this ?

hi james,
i lookes at your website, but the contents area for this book is only visible for chapters. Do you also have a more detailed explanation of what is in the book ?
That would help me very much, so i dont have to ask whether something is included in the book yes or no.
thanks,
baz

Not intending to be any negative reasoning.

But, Struts is just a framework(reasonably well designed one). My personal opinion regarding frameworks is it needs more of a involvement from a developer than help from books etc(basically handson experience makes more use than bookish knowledge).

Why there is so much emphasis for so many books on struts(could be that industry is using it more and more).

At the same time, why there is need for a reference book when we have availability of the web for reference issues(like Struts jsp tags and other classes in the framework)???

Mmm... IMO, I feel like if I got a book and finding a topic in the book is a lot easier than googling it... The book can provide sthing that is not available on the web... Even though you can find some tips how to do things from the web, the really great tips are in the reference book and we have paid $$$ for that...

Personally, I feel that Struts will be in the market for some more time, besides it is new, but also the idea of adoption of MVC model.

Even Struts will be replaced by other upcoming technolgoies, or being integrated with them (maybe JSF), the idea is still here!

Thus, we may not be too worried that the future of Structs.
