How can I tell which posts within a topic have been seen by me already?

Ranchers,

On other forum sites, each post within a topic includes a flag of some sort to show whether this post has already been read or is new. I've found this quite handy, as some topics can be quite long, and it's pretty tough to scan through it looking for the last one you actually read - especially if you haven't see the topic for a while.

Is there any way to tell which topic posts I've already looked at, and which ones are new?

If not, is this a feature that we can request be added in the future?

Thanks,

Most forums I go to do not show you what ones you viewed, some show you which ones you have participated in with a check mark.

The yellow folder shows you the new messages since the last time you visited that forum.

As I said, most other forums I participate in do show which postings have/have not been read. I'm not sure what to say if you don't see the value in this.

Yes, but as I said in my other posting, this doesn't work consistently.

I haven't seen that feature on any of the forums I read. Showing what threads I have seen, yes, but not showing what posts within a thread.

But maybe I just don't get out enough.

It's very, very handy. Especially for longer threads (topics). Here are just a few which I participate in that do it:
AVS (AV Science) Forum (where you can get information about all things Audio/Video) http://www.avsforum.com/
DBS Talk Forums (Satellite TV resources) http://www.dbstalk.com/index.php
Pilots of America http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/index.php
AT&T Wireless Forums http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board?board.id=sonyericsson

And the list goes on and on.

It sure would be a nice feature to have here as well.
