Hello,
I understand the serialVersionUID is used in order to manage versions of jpa entities. Am I really required to change the serialVersionUID if I change a database table (structure and data) and the entity class accordingly?
In what circumstances am I required to change the serialVersionUID in the context of JPA?
Regards,
Julien.

serialVersionUID has nothing to do with JPA, it is for object serialization. If you serialize your JPA objects, then you may need to worry about it.
