Hi all, Iam using jboss5.1.x, EJB3.0

I need to schedule a task in my application. which way would you recommend me to do it according to version I am using below?

I heard about SAR, but i am not sure if there is a way which is more appropriate or updated to do it nowdays

"updated way to do it"? I use cron for my apps.
I've seen Quartz recommended on the forums. I don't know if there's something built into JBoss.

cron? but this is a linux command. i need something to run from the inside of my application. something that my container(EJB) will run

Unix command. Linux <> Unix. You can write stand-alone EJB clients, ya know.
Again, Quartz may be what you are looking for. There are probably many other options.

Depends what you mean by schedule, but if its a task that recurs with a specific frequency EJB timers are available. Or a simple timer task if you don;t need any container provided services.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
