Anybody knows when will the SCJP 1.6 book by Sierra and Bates be release on the for Kindle? I see that there is the 1.5 version on the Kindle store, but I want to get the 1.6 on Kindle instead.
I had the same question as well! I waited around a long time for the Kindle version but finally gave up and purchased the hardcover. But the good news is that the book comes with a CD which has chapter-wise PDFs (among other material).
I haven't tried it, but you could consider transferring the PDFs to the Kindle.
The CD is compatible only with Windows, but in case you have a mac -you will be able to download the chapter PDFs (but not be able to run the mock exam file).
I have transfered the PDF version of the book to my Kindle, it is easy to read in landscape view if a little awkward as you either have to scroll or squint, but as I have the hardcover as well, I only use it on rare occassions for which it is fine.
The first kindle version of the practice exams book had some formatting issues. We have been told that these issues have been corrected, but I haven't yet confirmed that. I will confirm that soon and post my findings on this forum.
As far as the study guide goes, I have been told that Amazon is in the process of creating the kindle version, but they have not given me an availability date yet. Again, this forum will be where the announcement is made.
Thanks!
Bert
