I am not using any IDE to make this. I made minor changes to the book code. I am getting an error. Tomcat says running=false in manager ?
I got an error 404. Please let me know the error(s) i am making. Is it advisable to do my projects in an IDE ? Will it take "a lot" of time to learn the IDE basics to do all this ?

My Directory Structure :

This code calls MyCookie/servlet 1 and sends it name from a text-box.
index.html

servlet 1 will return this link to servlet 2 via this jsp
result.jsp

web.xml

CheckCookie.java : my second servlet

MyCookie.java : my first servlet

Defeated by the "/" again...sorry.
Here is the corrected xml file.
I suppose that resource not found is caused by an error in the xml file, the directory structure is wrong (anything else ???).Now it works fine.

web.xml
