Define tag cannot set a null value

I am defining a tag in my jsp like this




And in my beans getter method I am making sure not to return a null value

by this




Still I am getting the above error .Can any one please suggest what could be the cause of it

Are you 100% sure that there is an object with the name RETRIEVE_QUOTE in either the session or the request, and that this object is of the correct type?

I initialised the Collection activeQquoteResults in my Form as a class variable

like private activeQuoteResults = new ArrayList(1);

and it started working
But still these is a patch solution .It should have worked through other way also

Has anyone else also faced same scenario?
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
