getting Date input

hi guys i had a problem actually its not a big issue but i want to guys to help me..

i had 2 form date ,,,
these are the object

private Date minDate;
private Date maxDate;

and i want to print the value on the log and i could print maxDate but why when i try to print minDate i got null??

this is what i did to get the Date

System.out.println("Print  Min Date  "+getMinDate   +"Max Date "+getMaxDate);

It may sound obvious, but is minDate null?

If it shouldn't be, how are you referencing it in your JSF page?
