Hi All,

I'm planning to buy an external hard disk drive. I have found that Western Digital Hard disk drives are the best. So, could someone familiar with this stuff check this specific harddisk and give your opinion. This is compatible with USB 3.0 and has 500 GB capacity.

Thanks,
Pavan.

I have heard it from my collegues that the production has been stopped due to some floods and prices are soaring high for the same.i recommend that you purchase it at once if you are getting on cheap

It looks good from the adverts. You should read the reviews to see what people thought, especially the poor reviews. I don’t know how prices compare with that I would pay in UK.

I remember buying a WD 500gb USB 2.0 drive for around 4300 and that was some 3 years back. So I think the prices should have gone down by now. Check out the price for a 1TB drive. If the difference is not much then you might think of buying that.
As far as the brands are concerned- I have seen both WD, Seagate and Transcend brands being used.
