installation problem

hello ,
i just put the unzip jforum in the tomcat webapp directory. it takes all the parameters but when installing it, gives the following error.
please help in the same.

error is:

data base mysql is already up and its hostname is localhost and username is root with given password.
still the error appears

Try configuring JForum manually: http://www.jforum.net/install_no_wizard.htm.

I'm getting the exact same error. I've been trying the manual install without much luck. Does anyone know if there is a compatibility issue with the Essential MySQL 4.1 package (it features only the essential components one needs to run the MySQL server on a Windows machine)??? (Using with Win2003 and Resin.)

Well, this error, " Server connection failure during transaction. Due to underlying exception: 'java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused'. ", much probably is due incorrect host, username and / or password. Is the best shot I can give.
