Hi Michael,

Best of luck with the book.

Do you think the book is all one needs to study to be successful at the OCAJP exam?
Or do you see it as a stepping stone to add to other resources?

Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian -

I don't think the book is an awesome exam prep guide. I didn't really try to write one. I was more interested in writing a book for someone who wants to find work as a Java programmer, and who plans to use the OCA exam as a stepping stone. I am far more interested in what it takes to prepare a person for a job programming in Java. To me, certification is just a means to that end. If by the end of the book you have the tools you need to start reading and understanding Java APIs, I'll feel like I did the job I intended.

Ok, so does your book explain all ways which a task could be done and then explain the best way and why it is the best way?

It's not a book on best practices, if that's what you're asking.
