Hiding Faces In 3D Checkers.

Hi,I'm trying to develop a 3D checkers game using Java. I wrote a 3D piece but I've been having trouble with hiding it's faces so the user won't be able to see through it.

this is the code I wrote to see what face is needed to be covered:

then paint over...

I've used this exact function on a 3D cube with little twiks and it works ok.

Please show me any logical errors you may see in the function or suggest a better one.
